The Friends of the Chappaqua Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization run by volunteers. The purpose of the organization is to encourage, receive, and administer gifts for the benefit of the Chappaqua Library.
The Friends help to sponsor library programs such as author talks, children's programs, and writing workshops, as well as fund the purchase of furnishings, technology, and DVDs & books for the library’s collection. We are perhaps most well known for our Annual Book Sale - 32 miles of books! - and our Young Writer’s Contest held each spring.
The Friends Board meets 10 times a year to plan programs, prepare for the annual book sale, and investigate sources of funding. Meetings are typically* held the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm, September - June, at the Chappaqua Library. All are welcome.
*Note: Our next meeting is scheduled to take place at the Chappaqua Library on Wednesday, May 7th at 7pm. Email hello@chappaqualibraryfriends.org for a link to join the meeting from home.
