The purpose of the organization is to encourage, receive, and administer gifts for the benefit of the Chappaqua Public Library. The Friends help to sponsor library programs such as workshops, author talks, and children's programs, as well as fund the purchase of furniture, technology, and DVDs and books for the library's collection.
In 2025, the Friends sponsored the purchase of a new electronic sign on the building's exterior. This sign will enhance the library's ability to engage with patrons, keeping them informed about upcoming events, new services, and the many resources available at the library.
We are committed to underwriting the library’s much-loved museum pass program, which will continue to expand in 2025-2026 to incorporate more regional museums and family-friendly sites. Our most recent additions to the Museum pass program include the newly renovated Frick Collection in New York City as well as DIA: Beacon. Reserve your passes here.
In 2023 and 2024, the Friends funded new rolling chairs for computer stations, a new rapid reads display table, and new glass white boards for each study room for collaborative work.
